Zidane and the Head Butt
Zidane will undoubtedly qualify for the “Bonehead” of the year for his actions in yesterdays World Cup final. In the closing minutes of the World Cup Final between France and Italy, Zidane of France just drilled Italian Marco Materazzi with a flying head butt. This came out of no where and was just brutal. I mean seriously, only in soccer are you going to see a freakin head butt in the middle of a game.
Making it even more boneheaded was the fact that this was Zidane’s very last game. He retired after the game. Now, instead of remembering him as the great soccer player he was, the entire world will hear Zidane’s name and instantly think, “Head Butting Bonehead”!
The Italians went on to win the 2006 World Cup.
