The Todd Bertuzzi Sucker Punch

-->

Todd Bertuzzi is responsible for one of the dirtiest plays in hockey history.  During a March 8, 2004 game between his Canucks and Colorado, Bertuzzi sucker-punched Steve Moore in the head and drove his head down into the ice.  The damage to Moore was so extensive that it ended his career, and Bertuzzi got a $500,000 fine and a 20-game suspension.  The incident was a result of another incident a month earlier where Moore checked Canucks’ leading scorer Markus Naslund in the The Todd Bertuzzi Sucker Punchhead.  The team held the grudge, and Bertuzzi retaliated in full force.  It was an awful, boneheaded play, but Bertuzzi apologized repeatedly and was allowed back in the league to start the 2005 season.
