Boulerice suspended 25 games for cross-check to face

Philadelphia Flyers forward Jesse Boulerice has been suspended 25 games for his vicious cross-check hit to the face of Vancouver’s Ryan Kesler on Friday. The suspension on Boulerice is the longest in league history, making a statement that boneheaded, dangerous hits like this will be met with severe punishment. Boulerice has a long history of being a goon, and this incident was especially bad, coming towards the end of the game when the Flyers already had a 8-2 lead!

UPDATE — The Flyers placed Boulerice on waivers on Monday.
