Broncos RB Travis Henry violates drug policy, faces suspension
Potentially a huge blow to the Denver Broncos, running back Travis Henry may be suspended from the league for 1 year for a repeat violation of the substance abuse policy. Henry was suspended for 4 games in 2005 for the same violation of the drug policy. The deal there was that if Henry had another positive test within 2 years, he’d get a 1-year suspension from the league. That two-year block ended October 1, but a positive test may have occurred before that — Henry filed a lawsuit to block any further testing on Sept. 20, because his “expert” would not be available for the testing. The issue is still going through court. It’s a crazy situation, but it’s certainly not good for Henry and the Broncos — it’s too bad they inherited a bonehead as their feature back.
