Gary Barnett, Colorado football bonehead
Colorado hired Barnett as their coach in 1999, and Barnett’s reputation would never be the same. During his tenure, the program was hit with allegations of alluring recruits with sex and alcohol — that was the first major foul. The second involved his relations with female kicker Katie Hnida, who claimed that she had been harrassed and raped by team members. Barnett went off on Hnida, denying all the accusations and calling her a terrible kicker. He was suspended because of his boneheaded actions in 2004. Later, in June 2007, the program was placed under probation and fined again because of recruiting violations. Way to bring down the program, Gary!
