Vick goes down for dog fighting

Not only is this story boneheaded, it’s downright cruel. The national attention this story has gotten is immense, and with good reason. Since 2001, Vick has been involved in an illegal dog fighting ring, where his activities included financing the operation, acting as a bookie for gamblers on the dog fights, and even participating in fights and executions. Vick eventually entered a guilty plea for most of the accused activities, although he denied betting on or killing any of the dogs himself. His sentencing will come on December 10, but he’s already been suspended indefinitely from the NFL without pay. It’s an awful story from an incredible bonehead.
